On a bright sunny day on the first of August, the residents of the villages of Aksu and Kentubek in the Burlin district eagerly awaited the ceremony for handing over the keys to the new houses built to replace those destroyed by the flood.
Since the beginning of this spring, many regions of the country have suffered from flooding. Our western region, including the settlements of the Burlin district, was also affected. People did not have the strength or means to withstand the sudden natural disaster. As a result of the major spring flood, many residents were left without shelter, livestock, and property. Those left homeless were taken in by relatives and friends, with heavy thoughts in mind: «How to live further? What will tomorrow bring?» What to expect from the future?
President Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev called on the people of Kazakhstan to unite all efforts in the fight against an unprecedented natural disaster, calling it the largest catastrophe in Kazakhstan.
In this difficult time, sincerely supporting the President’s call, the Chairman of the Board of JSC «Aksaigasservice» Tlek Ishbulatovich Shektebayev quickly organized the evacuation of people from the flooded villages and the fight against the disaster with more than 25 units of special equipment and about 100 company employees!
Many emergency flood protection measures were carried out by JSC «Aksaigasservice» in the settlements of Zharsuat, Kanay, Burlin, Aksu, Kentubek of the Burlin district, in the villages of Bolshoy Chagan of the Baiterek district, Akzhaik, and Abai of the Terekti district.
As a result of the meticulous work done day and night, the floodwaters were stopped, thereby helping to reduce the rampage of the disaster and the material damage it caused. Alongside these measures, Tlek Ishbulatovich Shektebayev allocated 1 billion tenge (equal to USD 2.2M) for the construction of new homes for families who lost their houses during the spring flood!
Today, as a result of organized and cohesive work, skillful leadership, kindness, and sponsorship support, the difficult days are behind. People have gained confidence, their worries have dissipated! In their eyes, in just two months, new, bright, high-quality, spacious houses were built in the villages of Kentubek and Aksu.
At the ceremonial event for the handing over of the keys to the new houses were present the Head of the West Kazakhstan region Nariman Turegaliev, the Head of the Burlin district Erkebulan Ikhsanov, the Chairman of the Board of JSC «Aksaigasservice» Tlek Shektebayev, the Chairman of the West Kazakhstan Public Council Yerbol Salykhov, and the director of the construction company «Nauryz» Azamat Gubaidullin. Head of the region Nariman Turegalievich sincerely thanked Tlek Shektebayev for the immense and multi-faceted help that was provided promptly, maximally, and at any time of the day or night!
Head of the region Nariman Turegalievich and Tlek Shektebayev, handing over the keys to the new houses to the residents, congratulated them on their new homes. Recalling the difficult days everyone went through during the disaster and the damages it caused, they wished the new homeowners happiness in their new homes and that such a disaster would bypass them. All the work was carried out jointly with the Head of the Burlin district Erkebulan Ikhsanov.
As a patriot who cares for his native land and thinks about the future of his homeland, Tlek Shektebayev admitted that extending a helping hand to those in need, doing good, and sharing the heavy burden with the people gives him a special feeling and instills joy in his soul. «As founders of JSC «Aksaigasservice», we decided with our partners to allocate 1 billion tenge (equal to USD 2.2M) for the construction of new houses for our fellow countrymen who were left without homes during the spring flood. I also want to acknowledge the leaders of the companies «NefteGazCapital», «Orbis», and my friends and colleagues Nurlan Ayazbekov, Farrukh Makhmudov, Abzal Gubashev, and Sukhrab Makhmudov. They are also shareholders of JSC «Aksaigasservice» and fully supported my proposal. I want to express my gratitude to them.
Head of the region Nariman Turegaliev agreed to direct the allocated funds for the construction of new houses specifically in the Burlin district.
I was deeply touched by the difficult situation in which my fellow countrymen, my region, where I was born and raised, found themselves. I thought about what else I could do? «One man is not a warrior in the field» and with the idea of involving a noble cause to support those affected by the flood, we held a meeting with the founders and leaders of our contracting companies from Uralsk, Aksai, Atyrau, and Aktobe. Guided by the popular wisdom «Strength in unity» and supporting our appeal, 41 million 700 thousand tenge (equal to USD 91 740) has been transferred to the public fund «Akzhaik» to date. I thank them greatly. In total, at the personal initiative of Shektebayev, 1 billion 41 million 700 thousand tenge (equal to USD 2 291 740) was received in the fund «Akzhaik» for the construction of 42 new standard houses for affected families. Work in this direction is still ongoing.
«Our team of JSC «Aksaigasservice» also did not stand aside, donating one day’s earnings – 6 million 500 thousand tenge (equal to USD 14 300) to the support fund «Akzhaik» to help those affected by the flood. The team of the partnership «NefteGazCapital» also supported this initiative and transferred 5 million tenge (equal to USD 11 000). I also want to express my gratitude to all of them!» noted T. Shektebayev.
Recalling the events of those days, the President of JSC «Aksaigasservice» Shukurgali Saparov said, «The falcon is known in flight, the horse is known in the race». Tlek Shektebayev, in those difficult days, showed himself to be a true Patriot and a person of great and honest soul! From the beginning of the flooding, our leader mobilized all his forces for flood protection work. Thinking about the future of his fellow countrymen, he allocated a large sum for the construction of housing. From the start to the completion of the house construction, he personally controlled every stage daily, from laying the first brick to handing over the houses «turnkey», so that people could live in good homes».
Strong discipline and strict control yielded results. The residents of the villages of Kentubek and Aksu moved into modern, well-equipped, spacious houses in the shortest possible time, built from the heart, with honor and a clear conscience!
Known for his human qualities, good deeds, and responsiveness, Tlek Ishbulatovich Shektebayev earned the respect and trust of people. And truly, he is a patriot of his homeland and his people!
